Peter Brodie

Peter is the founder, principal and Chief Deal Mechanic of Villager Property Advisors. With a background in urban planning and more than 20 years of affordable housing experience, Peter is expert in the challenges and intricacies of affordable housing planning and strategy; public policy, housing programs and regulatory structures; multi-tiered project finance; public-private investment partnerships; market analysis and needs assessment; risk mitigation; and project execution. Peter has tackled an array of projects across New York, as well as several other states and Puerto Rico. Notable examples of his work include supportive housing in the Bronx for people living with HIV/AIDS; farm worker housing in the coffee-growing central mountain region of Puerto Rico; workforce housing in New York’s Adirondack State Park; infill housing in a blighted neighborhood of Buffalo; mixed-income housing in Manhattan; public housing rehabilitation and redevelopment in Kansas City MO, Camden NJ and Cambridge MA; GP interest sales; and Year 15 LIHTC asset sales. Peter’s work has required innovative partnership and financial structuring, creative solution-finding, multiparty negotiation and tenacious commitment.

Previously, Peter held senior housing tax credit investment positions with RBC Capital Markets and Alliant Capital. He has also worked for the National Equity Fund and the Community Preservation Corporation. In addition to his housing work, Peter worked on mitigating the environmental impacts of the Logan 2000 airport redevelopment for the Massachusetts Port Authority, and as GIS Specialist for FEMA, providing spatial data analysis and cartographic support for the 9/11 World Trade Center recovery effort.

Peter holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont, a graduate certificate in urban and environmental policy from Tufts University, and a master's degree in urban planning from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.
